Reed's journey began in his late twenties when he realized his passion for building custom bikes and parts. This passion led him to establish his own customizing business, Uncle Bunts Chop Shop. With a flair for design and engineering, he quickly made a name for himself in the motorcycle community. His work garnered attention, and soon he was winning awards at various motorcycle shows, including the prestigious Best Engineering award at the ISCA shows in Los Angeles and San Diego for his Supercharged Triumph shipped directly from the UK.

Notably, he created the stunning Virago show bike for Yamaha Europe, a project that showcased his ability to blend innovation with aesthetic appeal. In 2005, Reed’s influence was felt on a grand scale when Custom Chrome, a leading supplier of aftermarket motorcycle parts, sold over 5,900 parts designed by him. His commitment to excellence and creativity remained unwavering, even as he transitioned to California to work full-time for Custom Chrome. Despite his corporate responsibilities, Reed continued to build bikes from his home shop in his spare time, a clear indication of his relentless dedication to the craft.
