Early Passion & Achievements

Ed discovered his passion for motorcycling early in life. Despite his father's disapproval, he bought a used BSA, taught himself to ride, and was hooked for life. His talent for building award-winning custom motorcycles soon became evident, with many of his creations winning prestigious shows and gracing the covers of popular motorcycle magazines.

Founding Member of Hamsters USA

As a founding member of Hamsters USA, Ed played a key role in bringing the Bay Area style motorcycles to the East Coast. His relationship with Arlen Ness was instrumental in this achievement. The Hamsters are renowned for their philanthropic efforts, and Ed is proud of their numerous charity events, which include supporting the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and raising millions for LifeScape Children's Care in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Philanthropic Contributions

Ed's commitment to helping others extends beyond the motorcycle community. Over the last half-decade, he has spearheaded efforts to raise nearly $100,000 for Meals on Wheels, aiding food-insecure seniors. Additionally, the Hamsters run training programs to teach kids how to build custom motorcycles, providing parts, expertise, and mentorship across the country. Ed's instrumental role in bringing the Hamsters organization into the Sturgis Hall of Fame highlights his enduring influence. Since the beginning, Ed has kept the spirit of custom motorcycling alive, always keeping the metalflake flames burning.
